The Tāmaki Makaurau Streets for People programme aims to make on and off-street changes through tactical urbanism, designed and delivered with communities, that result in more people choosing safe, low-carbon, active trips.

Place Creative leads the Monitoring and Evaluation of these projects, with an emphasis on ensuring relationships with residents, stakeholders, Mana Whenua, and the wider community informs what is being tested on the ground. 

With our road-tested tactical urbanism monitoring toolkit, we bring together data sets, not only around users and behaviours/trends, but also trust capital and community perception/sentiment, to directly connect what we hear and learn, with the project team’s decision-making. 

The monitoring tools provide insights for effective communications, activations and engagement, and will produce an evidence base to inform the projects’ pathway to permanence.
