The Griffith Gardens was a temporary community space located on the corner of Albert Street and Wellesley Street to activate a vacant future CRL site.

The informal space enabled many community-led projects and events; Auckland's first city centre regenerative learning hub and teaching garden managed by For the Love of Bees, The Community Fridge, Rough sleeping support services and community meals, Artweek activations and the Puawai o te Kakano project by Āwhina Mai.

Liz Allen led the vision and implementation of this project while working for Auckland Council's Design Office.
