Hauraki District Council identified the need to support businesses across their district’s four towns, and engaged Place Creative to work with the business communities on what that support should look like.

We underwent stakeholder mapping and prioritisation, defined the different business ‘types’, and worked closely with HDC’s Economic Development lead to design and facilitate workshops with business representatives.

The businesses shared their experiences of working locally, and aspirations for future growth in their towns. Place Creative developed insights and a recommendations report for Council’s Long Term Plan. This articulated the needs of the different business ‘types’ and opportunities for Council to invest in supporting these across the District.
