Place Creative is really happy to announce its new Co-Director! Charlotte is coming on board to help Liz steer the ship, taking up the role of Head of Information + Voice.
For those of you who have worked with us before, you know that Place Creative’s biggest principle is teamwork. Thanks to Liz and her amazing brain, the agency was founded in 2018 to deliver much needed place-making services through collaboration; with Council, AT, and community champions across Auckland city.
In 2019 Liz brought Charlotte on to support delivering a partnership with For The Love of Bees, Auckland Council and the Viaduct, setting up a compost hub for waterfront hospitality businesses.
We bonded over a desire to put our insider knowledge of both bureaucracy and community to good use- that joining these two ends (and often translating one to the other) would make for faster, better change in Auckland, enabling every Aucklander to be able to experience the city at its fullest. It’s this shared ‘why’ that keeps Place Creative’s (electric) battery running.
The last two years have shown us that urbanisation across Auckland, and the rest of the country, is not stopping for anything. People are welcoming change and streets for people- town centres that reflect all of us, no matter how different our lifestyles and our backgrounds.
That’s what Place Creative wants to make happen. To knit together people with place, in a process that enhances our connection to one another.
Over the next few months we’ll have more to share about all the different ways people in our city are recreating a future that’s bold, climate-friendly and people focused, as well as lessons we can learn from towns across the country who are taking radical leaps towards that future themselves.
As Place Creative grows in this ecosystem, we’re proud to bring with us all of the relationships and knowledge we’ve gained so far. Take a look around to see what we’re doing, and reach out if you’d like to join us.
