It’s no secret that the norms for living in New Zealand are changing- and quickly. Under the current housing crisis people are reassessing their options of where to put down roots, which may look very different to what we thought they would even ten years ago. People are shifting to higher density buildings, or further out. Smaller cities and towns are having to reassess what their population will soon look like, as their lifestyles become more and more appealing to young people and families moving out of cities.
With this shift comes the need for different infrastructure- more busses and train connections for commuters, more kindies for young families. We have to consider a different use for spaces that have been one way for many generations.
